A member of the Republican Party, Inhofe is known for his strong conservative views, particularly on issues related to national defense and environmental policy. He gained notoriety for his skepticism regarding climate change, famously calling it a hoax. The Chemical Safety Board is a deeply troubled agency and its next Chairman will have to address a number of issues relating to how the agency is managed.
It is critical that we move forward with the nominations under the jurisdiction of this committee so that our Federal agencies can fulfill their mission to serve the American people.
Just last Tuesday, the EPA Inspector General (who acts as the CSB Inspector General) told our oversight subcommittee that the prior Chairman, Rafael Moure-Eraso, likely committed perjury and other crimes during his tenure at the CSB.
