This Committee has a long bi-partisan history of supporting STEM education for all and I look forward to continuing that today.
Thank you, Chairwoman Johnson for holding this hearing today to discuss how we can achieve the promise of a more diverse STEM workforce in the United States.
As I said at our last hearing, our Nation's space program is a source of pride.
We should be investing more in such inspiring and consequential research rather than cutting it, as is proposed in NASA's 2020 request.
I do not support the alternative of cannibalizing NASA's other important research activities just to speed up the human lunar exploration program.
I believe that human missions to the Moon and Mars, as well as robotic exploration, will continue to inspire.
That billion-dollar cut will have serious negative impacts on major research areas if enacted.

I am here today to tell my colleagues about H.R. 974 and urge they pass it. This is a bill about congressional oversight, pure and simple. As this body knows, Dodd-Frank gave the Federal Reserve greater regulatory authority and established…
That is why this Congress I joined my colleague, Chairwoman Johnson, in introducing H.R. 34, the Energy and Water Research Integration Act.
Quite simply, all of the issues raised from NIST were ignored. The opportunity to have a hearing on this subject matter in the committee was ignored. Mr. Speaker, I urge my colleagues to vote against the rule and the underlying bill. We…
I thank the gentleman for yielding. Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to the resolution for consideration of H.R. 1. H.R. 1 includes provisions that fall under the jurisdiction of the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee, of…
