Do you know what this comes down to? This is just boiling all this down, regardless of the issues that you are talking about: What do we believe in as a country? What do we want our country to be? The great thing about being an American is we get to decide. We do not have 30 or 40 people in the upper echelons of government telling us what we want the country to be like. We get to vote on it, and the American people get to express themselves at the ballot box and decide what we want this country to be like. Now, what we have had here over the past 5 years with a Republican House, Republican Senate, and Republican White House is tremendous deficits, borrowing more money from foreign interests in the last 4 or 5 years than we have borrowed in the last 224 years. Do you believe in a government that should put everything on a credit card? Do you believe in a government that should give tax breaks to millionaires and then never raise the minimum wage? Do you believe in a government that should have a $1 trillion prescription drug benefit and not do anything to contain the cost because the pharmaceutical industry may not like it? If you believe in that kind of government, then you want to continue with what we are doing right now. But if you believe in a government that is for the common good and the common defense and uses common sense, then you want to vote for the Democrats. If you want to raise the minimum wage by a couple bucks an hour, then you want to vote for the Democrats.…
