On the recordJuly 23, 2003
Reclaiming my time because it is running out, there is no way we can say with a straight face that it does not pass the snicker test to think manufacturing jobs are going to come back into Ohio or anywhere in the industrial Midwest because we signed this agreement. If we are so committed to the labor standards, why are we rolling back the five principled stances of the International Labor Organization which were in the Jordan agreement? This is prohibition of slavery, nondiscrimination of employment, child labor, freedom of association. We are taking that out.
