That moment, if there was leadership in this country, that moment, Mr. Meek, we could have converted our economy over into all kinds of different alternative energy sources, and we could have done it in the next decade. But we lacked the leadership at that critical moment in this country's history, and that is a shame. I am saying, Kendrick, that 5 years later when we see these increased gas prices, and the President stood here just a few weeks ago and said to the American people, we are going to reduce our American dependency on foreign oil by 50 percent by 2025. Now, let me just suggest that if we can go to the Moon in a decade that we can certainly convert our economy over and become energy independent in a decade. It is not going to take 20 years. We can do it in 10 years. We need the leadership of this Congress, Mr. President, to do it.…
