I suggest this morning that the problem we have is that this is not a bill that will help unemployed workers, nor do we have a budget that is going to help unemployed workers. If we were going to help them, we would not have reduced Pell grants, reduced dollars to elementary and secondary education. If we were going to help them, we would not have reduced dollars for job training programs. If we were going to help the unemployed workers, we would not have reduced dollars for affordable urban and rural housing. Mr. Speaker, I suggest we need to come together and sit down and stop playing with the unemployed, but help them.”
