I rise in support of the Thompson amendment. Mr. Chairman, I congratulate my friend from California (Mr. Thompson) for his leadership on issues of child abuse and abuse of the elderly. This amendment will lead to better training of health professionals to deal with those problems of sexual abuse and child abuse and abuse of the elderly, and I ask the House for support of the Thompson amendment.
