“I rise in support of the Davis amendment. Mr. Chairman, I congratulate him and compliment him on his work on a very important issue. I think that the disparity in health care delivery, especially as it relates to different racial groups, different socioeconomic groups, is one of the most serious problems our health care system faces. It is not something we have done especially well as a Nation or as a society in the past, and I think the Davis amendment is a major step forward in alleviating some of those discrepancies and variations. I thank the gentleman for his good work and ask for support of his amendment.”
