Look at the rate of growth. They did not grow a whole lot until the last 10 years, and look what happened. They are going to continue to grow since the Glass-Steagall repeal. The argument opponents of our amendment use most frequently is: We do not have the largest banks in the world anymore. There are larger banks other places. And how are our banks going to compete with these huge banks? I am intrigued by that because our banks are trillion dollar banks. I know there are studies that banks with assets of $300 billion and $400 billion and $500 billion have all the economies of scale. Economies of scale do not work forever.
