Today I rise to speak about voter suppression bills that are pending or are already signed into law in a number of States across this land. They have only one true purpose, which is to disenfranchise eligible voters. Many of my colleagues will be joining me this evening, and I would like to begin by yielding to my good friend, Mr. Rush Holt, from the State of New Jersey.
