I just want to say that one in eight Virginians are on SNAP and that able-bodied adults without dependents already work if there is a job. We all know that there are three people for every available job in this country. Madam Speaker, I yield 1 minute to the gentlewoman from New York (Ms. Meng).

the Fair Housing Act requires that we proactively fight discrimination and segregation.
It is a vital program, and I am hopeful that--it always has had bipartisan support.
I would just ask that we would prioritize what is best for the people of this nation and not balance the budget on the backs of poor people or seniors or homeless people.
I am happy to work with your office to make sure we are not doing things that are detrimental.
