“I think this is the type of a bill that any Member of the House would be proud to associate his or her name with. It is the type of bill that, after working all year, the many hours spent on hearings, the hours spent in conference, we can come back to the House and be able to say to our colleagues that this is a good bill. It is a good bill because it is a bipartisan bill. It is one that on both sides of the aisle we have worked together to try and produce a bill that all of us in the House can feel proud of and all of us can come to the floor and vote for. Once again, I want to thank my good friend, the gentleman from California [Mr. Lewis], for the pleasure of working with him to produce this excellent bill. I look forward to voting for it and I look forward to our continued, close working relationship together, to produce the kinds of legislation we produced today.”
