It seems every year we come to the floor of the Senate to criticize the administration's failure to implement a domestic energy policy that would support a sustainable oil and gas industry. We do this because there are a lot of us who watch figures, and every day we can see that we are growing more dependent on foreign sources of oil and gas. As a result, we are faced with what is happening today: Oil prices are now around $30 a barrel, with few domestic producers reaping any benefits, and with most of our oil coming from offshore.
