John Kasich is a Republican politician who served as the 69th Governor of Ohio from January 10, 2011, to January 14, 2019. Prior to his governorship, he was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1983 to 2001, representing Ohio's 12th congressional district. During his time as governor, Kasich focused on issues such as Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act, education reform, and economic development. He is known for his moderate stance within the Republican Party and his willingness to work across party lines on various issues.
