I rise today to commend the selection of Carole F. Hoover as president of the Greater Cleveland Growth Association. The Greater Cleveland Growth Association with its 14,000 members is the Nation's largest chamber of commerce. Carole Hoover is currently the executive vice president of the Greater Cleveland Growth Association and will succeed retiring president William H. Bryant in July. Carole Hoover has had a long and distinguished career as a leader in the Cleveland community. She has served with the Greater Cleveland Growth Association since 1971 and is one of the unsung heroes directly responsible for greater Cleveland's remarkable economic comeback in recent years. As executive vice president of the association with responsibility for day to day administration, Carole Hoover directly manages its five major divisions. She has provided much of the leadership for private sector involvement in economic development, infrastructure funding, expanded air service, international trade expansion and other vital issues. Her ability to play key roles in uniting public officials in a bipartisan fashion with the goal of bettering Cleveland is unequaled in our State.
