What`s so troubling about the era that we`re in right now in Judge Walton`s comments is this is about people with a political agenda.

We used to have the Voting Rights Act, which was a mechanism DOJ could use to keep these overly restrictive, overly suppressive laws from going into effect.

There's something comparable between abortion and slavery [...] and that while the people who obviously suffer the most are those subjected to it, I think it has this morally distorting effect on the entire society.

Trump is a bully. He`s always been a bully. And that`s clear in his conduct in this particular case, where part of this deposition today involved, we`re told, Trump being confronted with evidence from his own campaign rallies, where he encouraged the crowd to engage in violence.

The truth has a way of taking a long time to come to the front. But, for Trump, that time looks like it`s running out here.

It`ll be very important for DOJ to proceed. The madness has gone on for long enough. It`s time for someone to just tell Trump no, to tell him that the law applies to him.

It does sound very much like someone who`s desperate to try to turn the tables and certainly the former president has a history of trying to abuse the legal system for his own benefit. So this looks like another chapter in that same book.
