I think the Great Lakes should be the number one priority. I do not think of it as a lake or a series of lakes. I think of it as a national treasure that we need to take care of.

Given that the EPA is the lead Federal agency implementing and administering the GLRI, how is this proposed $50 million decrease expected to impact the EPA's efforts to restore and maintain the chemical, physical, and biological integrity…

The GLRI has provided approximately $1.96 billion toward restoration efforts since its initial year of funding in FY 2010.

Last year he proposed funding it at $275 million, and this year he proposed funding it at $250 million.

The GLRI is a tremendous bipartisan initiative.

I have been a beneficiary of it because my primary care physician has come from that program.

Legislation like Representative David Joyce's will create greater certainty for the program and allow everyone to focus on getting the job done.

First, please maintain support for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.

It is all about community and economic development.

When people talk about how they are going to create jobs, it is by creating new agencies. We do not need any more agencies.

We need to get focused on one plan because we cannot continue on the path of not doing anything.

I am glad you brought that up because part of that as my second question.

I am afraid if the Asian carp make their way into Lake Erie or any of the Great Lakes it would be not only detrimental to the region but it would greatly impact all the fish in the Great Lakes.

I appreciate your support of an all-of-the-above energy strategy, which I also support, but I would appreciate even more, the Department of Energy setting clearer targets.

Our own energy crisis is not just about insecure oil supplies from the middle east, but about the cost it inflicts on hardworking Americans.

I noticed in the fiscal year 2015 request a higher percentage of competitive discretionary grants than the levels currently enacted.

And the ability to be able to perform that job and make money and be able to pay for their school instead of coming out with such a large debt.

I think it is very important.

President Gee was very specific that that doesn't happen.

I strongly support a proposal to build a 12th LPD in fiscal year 2015.

You mentioned that you were seeking a more efficient contracting model and project-based Section 8 program.

We are working together, along with Congressman Ryan, because I think it is very important that you take out the houses that have bad bones.

I support creative solutions to the abandoned housing crisis.
