Republicans stand ready to tackle the root causes of these cost increases so we can put the American dream within reach for more families across our great nation.

A family of four with $73,000 of income received a $2,000 tax cut, a 58 percent reduction in federal taxes.

The Budget Committee is supposed to be the Committee of fiscal discipline, and we have a responsibility to ensure that our government's finite resources are helping to grow the economy.

This type of proposal would not just bust the budget and compound our existing mandatory spending crisis, but it would also diminish the dignity of work.

We should be focusing this Committee's time on policies that create jobs, increase wages, and expand opportunities for all Americans.

The title of today's hearing is 'Solutions to Rising Economic Inequality,' but I am concerned this hearing is focused on the wrong premise.

I am pleased to share with you efforts underway in Ohio to provide TMS as an additional, alternative treatment for these veterans.

I'm very pleased to see Ohio taking action to provide our veterans with new and innovative individualized care and treatment options.

I respectfully urge the Committee to hold a hearing to examine whether TMS is a viable, alternative treatment option for veterans suffering from PTSD and TBI, in addition to depression.

It is a crime that we have not got it done yet.

We just can not give them a blank check, but want to make sure that we have accountability in place.

The VA can not do it alone; we need the community involved in this.

We have seen a rising tide of support for the Improve Act, including National VSOs and the Secretary of Affairs, Mr. Robert Wilkie, who recently identified the need for the Improve Act in order to help the VA reach more at-risk veterans.

I encourage this Committee to continue looking for innovative ways to address this issue.

Homelessness among our veterans, both men and women. It is a national tragedy.

I wish this Committee would focus on its responsibility to develop a budget.

Without substantial and immediate reform to this visa program, some of the small businesses in my district are at risk of losing everything because they can't get their workers.

I am grateful to the Administration for recognizing the unprecedented employer demand for H-2B workers and raising the cap by an additional 30,000 visas for the rest of fiscal year 2019.

I represent rural eastern and southeastern Ohio, where many small businesses rely on H-2B visas.

We all want to produce a bill that can help address the current challenges and opportunities of our pipeline system.

We should not be playing politics with pipeline safety but instead, we should be working on a bill that has received proper and necessary technical feedback from PHMSA and all members of this committee.

I hope that as we move forward our Energy and Commerce majority will seek to make this historically bipartisan process just that--bipartisan.
