On 1 January, when our city celebrates the inauguration of a new administration, let us also celebrate a new era for our city.

I’m confident in delivering these same policies that we ran on for the last year.

These are threats, many of which go far beyond the power of the presidency, and this is money that New Yorkers are owed.

We will prove there is no problem too large for government to solve and no problem too small for it to care about.

New York, tonight you have delivered a mandate for change.

The city will stand united against his attacks.

I would not recognize any state's right to exist with a system of hierarchy on the basis of race or religion.

New York, this power, it's yours. This city belongs to you. Thank you.

Let the words we've spoken together, the dreams we've dreamt together become the agenda we deliver together.

These things together raise about $9 billion, which more than pays for the economic agenda and also starts to Trump-proof our city.

If it was safety, President Trump would be threatening to deploy the National Guard to the top 10 states of crime, eight out of which are all Republican-led.

This has nothing to do a safety, it has to do with intimidation.

His threats are inevitable.

This victory shows that change is possible

You have delivered a mandate for a new kind of politics, a mandate for a city we can afford and a mandate for a government that delivers exactly that.

We will stand alongside unions and expand labor protections because we know – just as Donald Trump does – that when working people have ironclad rights, the bosses who seek to extort them become very small indeed.
