We're not doing enough. We don't have the urgency. It – it needs to be a national problem.

This is the most powerful thing I have done in Congress, truly, very – it's very emotional, and it's pos – it's positive.

The fact that zero dollars from this huge, multibillion-dollar plan are going to go to improve service to my constituents is incredibly frustrating, and, I think, a significant public policy failure.

I would like and will continue to push for investments in single-seat ride for west of the Hudson for my constituents and all the residents of the Hudson Valley.

The MTA is rolling out what I think is an unfair, uninformed, and unacceptable congestion pricing plan.

As you might imagine, the congestion pricing conversation is very much on the minds of my constituents who, along with me, are, frankly, very upset--I would say furious--over this plan.

The 17/I-86 upgrade is critical for continued economic and community development in Orange County, the Hudson Valley, and lower NYS.

I want to also just emphasize again, from my and my district's perspective, the rail safety issue, to commend you and your team already for the work.

I recognize the economic potential that can be unlocked by having strong airport infrastructure not just at the very biggest, most famous global airports, but the ones that really matter to regions.

That means that there is going to be less money for defense, there will be less money for infrastructure, and there will be less money, ironically, for entitlements.

It is patently unfair. It is patently un-American, in fact.

It is not student loan forgiveness. It is student loan transfer.

So, more spending is not the solution to inflation because if all of those spending programs worked as well as my Democratic colleagues have claimed, well, why did we stop at $3 trillion or $4 trillion of spending?

Inflation transfers wealth from the people to the government, and, frankly, there is no better definition of a tax than that.

Massive borrowing by the Treasury and monetary financing of deficits by the Federal Reserve created 40-year high inflation and imposed a hidden but heavy tax on the American people.

I estimate that for the typical American family, they are paying an additional $1,800 a year now in higher financing costs compared to January 2021.

This has been a loss in annual purchasing power of over $5,100.

Prices, on average, for consumers have increased 16.6 percent since President Joe Biden took office, and wages have not kept up.

We have to, as Americans, be able to figure out how to navigate this.

I appreciate your commitment to personally look into this.
