The bottom line is that readiness is holistic, and, if the families are not happy, the soldier walks.

We are mindful of this. We are undertaking a review of ways in which we can mitigate those stresses.

Constant rotation...causes stress on our force.

Our families, as I mentioned, are our priority, as well.

This came to the forefront last year with the shooting by Devin Patrick Kelley, in Texas.

The reported retaliation rate against survivors has consistently been around 60 percent, which is deeply troubling.

I remain concerned about the pace of accessing and signing women into all military occupations and units that were previously denied to them.

We need to address the challenges faced by our service members and their families.
