I just want to thank you for your service to our country and for the difficult issues you deal with on a daily basis.
I know that the Republicans have a concern about overregulating, but with the Commission having to, first, go to voluntary standards I am very concerned about underprotecting our consumers.
I think our government spends too much money leasing and, at the end of the day, owns nothing.
I, on the other hand, want to be helpful in investing in the future, as they are too.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is an independent agency responsible for monitoring the products sold or imported into the U.S.
As more products reach our borders from abroad, we must do everything in our power to ensure this vital agency has every tool and resource necessary.
I can't, again, stop telling you how important that is, and how, unfortunately, this situation has brought us all together.
