When you draw lines in the sand and you have this extreme position on both sides where we're not going to give a dime for funding border security or the wall or the other side saying we want a wall, you got to bend.

I don't foresee it lasting too much longer because I think the pressure is mounting.

But make no mistake about it, I absolutely believe that we need to secure our border.

I made a promise to my constituents long ago that I would vote I would never vote against -- vote for a shut down or continued shutdown and that's all that was last night.
