I want to stress how important our investment in science and technology and the innovation ecosystem is to our national security.

I want to add a note that I think we have to be when this is a global race for 5G technology.

It is not clear we have to wholly own every one of these facilities if there is a way we can work with some of our partners.

I believe strongly that additional investment in additive and digital manufacturing will strengthen our domestic industrial base and therefore bolster our supply chain resiliency and accountability.

Now, more than any time in recent history, our military superiority is determined by our technological superiority.

I think it is important, when we talk about educational tools for parents, that we provide information about screen time and potential long-term negative impacts of too much screen time at an early age.

I wanted to particularly highlight your testimony, Mrs. Rose. Thank you so much for being here.

Your statement was incredibly powerful to hear from you as a mom, and you are an example for so many parents across this country.

Ranking Member Stefanik, if you think about persistent engagement, I would offer two different components that are very, very important, that are foundational to persistent engagement.

As a matter of national security, I strongly encourage the Department to continue to strengthen its partnerships with academia and the private sector.

In August, through Chairwoman Stefanik's leadership, we successfully authorized the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence.

This committee has taken deliberate bipartisan actions to better organize the Department of Defense.

We have also closely examined our adversaries' investments in AI and related technologies.

AI and machine learning are topics of priority and deep interest among the members of this subcommittee.
