Well, it certainly does seem like a sustained effort, along with the voter suppression laws that we`re seeing pop up around the country, to undermine faith in our democracy, to undermine electoral integrity.

Congress has a duty to take strong action to fulfill the promise of the Reconstruction Amendments, that all Americans should be free to participate in our democracy on equal terms, free from racial discrimination.

There is nothing to fear from helping Americans vote.

It's a crucial safety net. If people have been removed from the rolls erroneously, Election Day registration permits them to get back on the rolls on Election Day.
