Immigration is truly crucial.

Just to close, Mr. Chairman, there has been a lot of talk about making changes to Social Security to secure its long-term viability.

As this has been said, the first Social Security check went out in 1940 and has never missed a payment, which speaks to the strength and the resiliency of that program.

Without that kind of positive net immigration, we would have a very different distribution.

Day in and day out, our dedicated letter carriers and postal workers deliver to America for America, but processing and delivering the mail should never leave these workers stranded, threatened, or at risk of losing their lives. However…

The victims' families did not blame the pilots themselves, because they were victims too. They blamed the system that allowed inadequately trained pilots to fly our commercial planes.

These regulations were put in place 14 years ago and as a result our skies have never been safer.

The noise pollution caused by aircraft and airports, when not addressed, is an unacceptable encroachment on so many of our communities.

I strongly urge the committee to consider the inclusion of this bipartisan, bicameral initiative in the FAA Reauthorization Act.

Every American that steps on a plane deserves the peace of mind that there is one level of safety among all US airlines.

We do have to be tougher on China, but the United States has to be tougher on ourselves about China.

I plan to reintroduce this legislation soon.

I also plan to reintroduce the Care is an Economic Development Strategy--or CEDS--Act this Congress.

I urge the committee to exercise oversight over the Department of Transportation in this case, as I am, and call on Secretary Buttigieg to issue the final rule that was due back in 2019.

Protecting the 1,500-hour pilot training rule isn't a partisan issue, it's about maintaining the safety of our air space.

But this year as the FAA Reauthorization process continues, some are calling the hard-fought 1,500-hour pilot training rule into question.

Since 2010, commercial aviation fatalities have been reduced by 99.8 percent.
