Bill de Blasio is an American politician who served as the 109th Mayor of New York City from January 1, 2014, to December 31, 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously held the position of New York City Public Advocate from January 1, 2010, to December 31, 2013. During his tenure as mayor, de Blasio focused on issues such as affordable housing, education reform, and income inequality, often emphasizing the need for a more equitable city. His administration was marked by initiatives aimed at improving public safety and expanding access to healthcare and education for underserved communities.
