Why would you keep a citizen in Uganda, which is a country that outlaws the LGBTQ community? Why?
Andrew Cuomo
The Public Record
Andrew Cuomo is an American politician who served as the 56th governor of New York from 2011 to 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he focused on issues such as economic development, healthcare reform, and education during his tenure. Prior to his governorship, Cuomo served as the Attorney General of New York from 2007 to 2010, where he gained recognition for his work on consumer protection and public corruption cases. He also held the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Bill Clinton from 1997 to 2001, advocating for affordable housing and urban development initiatives.
Let’s make a major start by stopping a major debacle — the new jail construction to replace Rikers Island.
I support the ballot proposals because I think they will eliminate local opposition and spur more affordable housing construction.
But you are a citizen of Uganda, running for mayor. Why wouldn’t you say, “I am going to give up my citizenship?” Because I will not be a citizen of a country that would kill gay people.
I think the divide was younger people, 20 to 30, which would fit with newer transplants to New York and the issue of Gaza, which, by the way, has nothing to do with the mayoral thing.
