Andrew Cuomo is an American politician who served as the 56th governor of New York from 2011 to 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he focused on issues such as economic development, healthcare reform, and education during his tenure. Prior to his governorship, Cuomo served as the Attorney General of New York from 2007 to 2010, where he gained recognition for his work on consumer protection and public corruption cases. He also held the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Bill Clinton from 1997 to 2001, advocating for affordable housing and urban development initiatives.
The gap is closing fast — we can feel it on the ground everywhere from the Bronx to Staten Island. At this rate, we win the race. Keep going strong.

I know many oppose them, but when a public school fails generation after generation, and we keep it open anyway, that’s unacceptable.
On education — when schools are failing, I believe we should close them and replace them with charter schools. I’m a strong believer in charter schools.
If a school has been failing for a prolonged period, shut it down and give a charter school or a specialized school the chance to succeed.
To Zohran, I believe you have been a divisive force in New York, and I believe that’s toxic energy for New York. It’s with the Sunni Muslims when you say decriminalize prostitution, which is haram.
