Assemblymember Mamdani has demonstrated a real ability on the ground to put together a coalition of working-class New Yorkers that is strongest to lead the pack.

What initially drew me to [the Democratic Socialists of America] was the fact that they showed up everywhere that I showed up.

Even if the entire left coalesced around any one candidate, an ideological coalition is still insufficient for us to win. We have to have a true working-class coalition.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play.

I’m proud of how I grew up and talk about it all the time! My mom cleaned houses and I helped. We cleaned tutors’ homes in exchange for SAT prep.

There have to be consequences to these votes, and we have to decide if this is just a joke or just for TV, or if this is our real lives. And I hope people vote like it’s our real life.

I don’t think we’ve ever seen or are prepared for how catastrophic this is set to be.

I think this is one of the saddest days in modern American history.

People are going to go hungry.

People are going to get sick. On a scale unlike anything we’ve ever seen.
