What I am hearing is not quite when it comes to recalling and making sure that individuals in our communities, that have these vehicles, are aware that there is a concern for their safety.

Like others on this Committee, unfortunately, this is also personal to us in Nevada, in Las Vegas.

And so, because I appreciate your lessons learned, and one of the things you had talked about was possibly mandating vehicles be repaired prior to registration or renewal of registration.

So it is illegal for them to do that if they know it is subject to recall?

Those Zones, can you tell me how they are identified? Are they identified by highest risk to the consumer?

And this system is to be up and running or online. Do you have a time-frame for it?

I have concerns about anybody who has a child or anybody who is driving these vehicles and they cannot get a replacement immediately.

In 2007 dollars, about $96 billion, and it has not been adjusted for inflation.

Has the Department of Energy done a consideration or analysis based on that, to put costs associated with it?

Would you commit to giving this letter your attention and providing a quick response within the next two weeks?

I cannot at this time make an assessment about the time and cost associated with the Yucca project, but I am committed to learning more about the project and helping to resolve this national problem.

And if you are going to make a budget request to restart licensing for a facility that requires such expensive, innovative engineering, wouldn't it be more appropriate to lay all of these considerations before Congress before asking for…

I want a final plan. I want to know how the money is being spent. I want an analysis. I want an assessment.

Are you aware that this report also indicates the Department of Energy will need $13.5 billion, again, in 2007 dollars, and 10 years just to obtain a construction authorization and license from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission?

I think we all know that we have to do better.

Are you referring to coming to Capitol Hill now and working with us in a bipartisan way?

Requiring our tribes to work with the States to fight for that money is difficult.

We are combating opioids now and it is a crisis across the Country.

Had that question been asked of the Tribal witnesses, the committee would have heard an unambiguous 'Yes.'

But it's possible it could because--

What it appears you're doing is shifting money away from low-income students who need the funds to attend college.

I only have 5 minutes. So if you've done the modeling or analysis, just say yes, and if you would send it to my office, that would be great.

So what you're saying today is it is not shifting funds away from traditional Pell grants.
