The President's budget proposes a nearly 50 percent cut to the HUD VASH vouchers for Native Americans, to $3 million.

It is time just to make the change. It is time to really address the privacy issue.

Nearly every community in this Nation has an affordable rental housing crisis, and it is worse in Nevada.

I think you need to take responsibility and get things right. HUD's mission is too important to do otherwise.

One final thing because I am going to run out of time here, but is it also true that MGM has attracted more business because of the investments you have made in water efficiency?

So talk to me about what HUD is specifically doing, what programs.

Those have all really sailed through the NEPA process, partly because of that advanced stakeholder input.

That idea of involving stakeholders in this process at all levels because it can streamline the NEPA process.

Can you just put it in perspective? How many rooms does your property have in Southern Nevada?

So can I get a commitment from you that you will work with us on addressing affordable housing?

This is the second year in a row that this Administration planned to eviscerate the already inadequate funding that we provide for affordable housing.

Well, you should be, and I think we are all concerned about it.

High rents are driving thousands into homelessness.

For every 100 extremely low-income families, there are only 15 affordable apartments.

Federal assistance reaches only 1 out of every 4 eligible families. State and local governments are already strapped for cash.
