Jeff Bingaman is a former U.S. Senator from New Mexico, serving from 1983 to 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, he was known for his work on energy policy, education, and healthcare. During his tenure, Bingaman played a significant role in shaping legislation related to renewable energy and was a strong advocate for the development of clean energy technologies. He served as the Chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, where he focused on issues such as energy efficiency and the promotion of alternative energy sources.
We thank Senators Bingaman, Murkowski, Menendez, and Kohl for introducing these bills and moving the discussion forward.

the budget for the nonproliferation verification research and development account is flat if not declining from fiscal year 2011 to fiscal year 2015.
My understanding is that the WIPP operations in fiscal year 2011 have asked for an additional $7 million to maintain current disposal operations.
Dr. Triay, what additional work is taking place at Los Alamos as a result of ARRA funding?
Mr. D'Agostino, for fiscal year 2011 you are proposing to initiate a study on the Minuteman III W-78 warhead.
My understanding is that for this year the effort will examine principally the non-nuclear components.
