Before September 11, 66,000 New Jersey residents had commuted daily to Lower Manhattan through the World Trade Center PATH Station. The loss of this station has severely strained many of New Jersey's rail, bus, and ferry systems, which will continue to operate above capacity for the foreseeable future.
