Mr. Chairman, we should all oppose this amendment irrespective of our position for or against gun control. We should oppose this amendment because it is unconstitutional. It violates the equal protection clause of the U.S. Constitution. The underlying bill is a proper regulation of free speech. What is wrong with this amendment is that it segregates that regulation of free speech according to what you are saying. So this body is going to say if you speak about the second amendment, you have one set of rights; but if you speak about anything else, anything else, you do not have that same set of rights. On its face, on its face, this amendment violates the equal protection clause of the United States Constitution; and whether you are for gun control or against gun control, you should honor your oath to uphold the Constitution and oppose this amendment.
