We have a record of the Democratic Party in control of both the Congress and the presidency. And the overwhelming issue is the state of the economy.

Lawmakers in state capitals including Trenton and in several other state capitals around the country have raided the funds set aside to improve the 9-1-1 system.

This unacceptable practice leaves counties and localities on the hook for maintaining and upgrading their systems, and this of course endangers public safety.

But for the richest most powerful nation on earth, we can and should do better.
