The AIRWAVES Act includes a rural dividend, setting aside 10 percent of proceeds from future spectrum auctions to deploy wireless in unserved and underserved, often rural areas.

I commend the Commission and the members of the subcommittee for the good, bipartisan work that has occurred over the past year and a half.

But for the richest most powerful nation on earth, we can and should do better.

I have introduced the AIRWAVES Act with Ranking Member Doyle which, among other things, would help spur rural broadband deployment by dedicating 10 percent of spectrum auction proceeds under the bill to rural broadband.
