Currently there is evidence that some in the VA system with responsibility for helping our veterans are embezzling funds.

Improving the VA's Fiduciary Program is essential because it serves a very vulnerable segment of the veterans' population.
Mismanagement and little oversight have no place in the administration of these benefits, especially dealing with those that are least able to manage their own affairs.
I hope the VA, and our witnesses, can provide insight into the current staffing levels of the VA fiduciary Program, and whether we might need additional personnel.
I am pleased that the VA has taken steps to improve the Fiduciary Program, but I know this Subcommittee wants to make sure that these steps represent real progress in fixing these real problems.
I think you will see more people who are suffering from the more severe PTSD rated at 100 percent or at 70 percent.
I take our focus on disability and veterans and to our wounded warriors very seriously.
