So this is former Social Security officers who are speaking out about what is happening. People who worked at the Agency see what is happening. Two former senior officials at the Social Security Administration--one under a Democratic President, one under a Republican President--wrote this column published in The Hill. The title of the column is ``Social Security faces a crisis with staff cuts, closures.'' Again, these are folks from both sides of the aisle yelling into the wilderness, hoping that more people will understand what is happening to Social Security, what these cuts in staff are actually going to do to the quality of life for millions of Americans who rely on Social Security, disproportionately impacting people that are living in rural areas. Red States, blue States, Republicans, Democrats--this is not a normal time, America. The bedrock commitment made is being undermined by the most powerful man in our country and the richest man in the world.
