Last year, I worked with Senator Murkowski to pass into law the Mainstreaming Addiction Treatment Act.

I was really glad to see that the VA has chosen a week next month, October 16th to 20th, to designate as the first official Buddy Check Week in which veterans conduct peer-to-peer wellness checks.

That directs the VA, as you know, to contact every veteran at least three times by phone in the first year after they leave active duty service.

I would look forward to continuing to work with you on that.

The public safety risk from these so-called jailbreaks also extends to the fentanyl crisis.

I wanted to take a moment, Senator Romney, to reflect on the impact that you have had on the Senate in the time that you have been here.

As Senator Lankford was describing, this is in part a values question of what are the things that we need a bureaucracy empowered to address.

Something we will have to figure out how to develop a response to.

I too am more focused on the potential downsides here, understanding that there are, of course, upsides to this emerging technology as well.

Your dedication to public service is clear, and the people of Utah, Massachusetts, and the United States are better off due to your years in elected office.

I helped lead a bipartisan effort to codify the General Service Administration's IT Modernization Centers of Excellence, including the Center of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence.

During my time in the Senate, I have focused on reducing the Federal Government's reliance on aging technology in order to save taxpayer dollars, improve security, and obviously provide better service to the American people.
