Annie L. McLane Kuster is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for New Hampshire's 2nd congressional district since January 3, 2013. She has been an advocate for expanding access to affordable healthcare and has worked on initiatives to support small businesses in her district.
My bill would resolve a peculiar problem with the VA's initiative to connect VA medical facilities to state prescription drug monitoring programs.
This Congress the bill provides an important improvement to the length of neonatal care that newborns can receive.
Many of our female veterans have served us at great risk and great personal cost, and these heroes deserve the highest standard of care we can offer.
My bill would expand VA's authority to include all VA beneficiaries that are prescribed a drug at the VA.
Maternity care is often among the needs of our female veterans, and I believe the Newborn Care Improvement Act is one important way to help.
We know we must take action to address access to care issues at the VA, including maternity and newborn care.
I urge my colleagues to support this vitally important piece of legislation and get our veterans the best treatment possible.

Mr. Speaker, all due respect to my colleague from Wyoming, it is not liberty for a woman to be forced to go to work within weeks of having a child. That is what this bill would do. Mr. Speaker, it is not liberty for people over 50 years…
