I wanted to go to the opposite end of the country to my district in New Hampshire and talk briefly about the Veterans Choice Program.
We want to stay in very close touch with your team about the plan for the west LA facility, particularly addressing homelessness of veterans in west LA.
I want to start by commending you, Secretary McDonald, for the efforts that your team has done to settle the lawsuit out in west Los Angeles.
This is my first hearing as Ranking Member of this Subcommittee, one of the most important subcommittees in Congress, and I look forward to working with Chairman Coffman and all of my colleagues.
But we must also remember that our responsibility is not only to identify problems, but to work to find solutions.
I commend the work that you have done and urge the VA in going forward with your audit, changing your administrative processes, getting on top of your billing and collection.
