I agree with the ranking member, Mike Rogers, and Senator Inhofe concerning the President's defense budget request.

If you would look at that, I would be grateful.

I didn't understand that a lot of those requirements came right out of the EFP [explosively formed penetrator] and the IED scenario, so thank you.

That makes sense, because we have the technology now where you can maximize the capabilities of electrification now and yet still maintain your combat capability.

If you could give us a little background on that, I think it is useful to have that on the record.

The example, I guess, I would use, as Mike mentioned, it is easier on the light vehicles.

SNAP is a program that stimulates the economy, helping to turn the tide from contraction to expansion.

I would think that we would need to match benefits proportionately and inversely proportionate to your income.

I, too, am concerned about the cliff effect, and it does hold some people back from trying to get more employment.

We still see increases in poverty, but it has gone down significantly since its peak. We have more work to do.

I will use that as a kind way of saying that sometimes they are mismanaged.

How do we reach them with nutritious foods like fresh fruits and vegetables and other proteins?
