Heidi Heitkamp is an American politician and attorney who served as the United States Senator from North Dakota from 2013 to 2019. A member of the Democratic-NPL Party, she was the first woman elected to the Senate from North Dakota. During her tenure, Heitkamp focused on issues such as agriculture, energy, and rural development, advocating for policies that benefited her state's economy and communities.
Many of the communities that I visit with tell me that they feel under siege.
I think you saw there the dramatic increase in the amount of drug crime, in particular, but also sexual assaults.
I think we can double our impact on the border if we continue to advance the work that this Administration has started with the Canadian Government.
There has to be some flexibility that they have because they have to make those determinations.
I do not think, given what we know right now, a delay to the end of the year is asking too much.
I have long maintained that I think guidance can be extraordinarily helpful.
We still have not satisfied the public that they have had adequate input in this process.
