Madam Chair, again I say, Republicans abhor any type of discrimination, particularly pay discrimination against women. Madam Chair, if H.R. 7 would help with the situation that my colleague described, we would be in favor of it. No woman should be discriminated against because she reports the fact that she is receiving unequal pay for work, but, again, H.R. 7 does nothing to help those situations. That is why we oppose it. Madam Chair, H.R. 7 is not helping women; it is helping trial lawyers. I urge my colleagues to vote ``no'' on the amendment, and I yield back the balance of my time. The CHAIR. The question is on the amendment offered by the gentlewoman from California (Mrs. Torres). The amendment was agreed to. Amendment No. 3 Offered by Mrs. Torres of California The CHAIR. It is now in order to consider amendment No. 3 printed in part B of House Report 116-19.
