The legislative clerk read as follows: A concurrent resolution (S. Con. Res. 38) reaffirming the Taiwan Relations Act and the Six Assurances as cornerstones of United States-Taiwan relations. There being no objection, the Senate proceeded to consider the concurrent resolution.

But now I’m convinced that the best way to do this is to end it by renegotiating the agreement and settling it for good.
The key there is exactly what I’ve said. That this agreement, the 1776 fund, needs to go away, and the language with respect to audits needs to be very tightly tailored.
