I would like to share a poem that I think says it all in our debate today. Tax his cow, tax his goat, tax his pants, tax his coat; Tax his crops and tax his work, tax his tie and tax his shirt; Tax his shoe, tax his smoke, teach him taxes are no joke; Tax his tractor, tax his mule, teach him taxes are the rule; Tax his oil, tax his gas, tax his notes, and tax his cash; If he hollers, tax him more, tax him till he's good and sore; Tax his coffin, tax his grave, put these words upon his tomb: ``Taxes drove me to my doom.'' After he's gone, he can't relax, they'll still go after Death tax. I would like to urge all my colleagues to vote against the Rangel substitute.
