Madam President, I call up the Flake amendment No. 2582. The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will report the amendment by number. The bill clerk read as follows: The Senator from North Carolina [Mr. Burr], for Mr. Flake, proposes an amendment numbered 2582 to amendment No. 2716. The amendment is as follows: (Purpose: To terminate the provisions of the Act after six years) At the end, add the following: SEC. 11. EFFECTIVE PERIOD. (a) In General.--Except as provided in subsection (b), this Act and the amendments made by this Act shall be in effect during the 6-year period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act. (b) Exception.--With respect to any action authorized by this Act or information obtained pursuant to an action authorized by this Act, which occurred before the date on which the provisions referred to in subsection (a) cease to have effect, the provisions of this Act shall continue in effect.
