First of all, I am fully aware that it is a dangerous combination to be opposing both the chairman of the full Judiciary Committee and the gentlewoman from California (Ms. Waters), but I simply think this bill is an overreaction. This amendment would strike all the provisions of the bill except the sense of Congress which I believe adequately conveys the legitimate concerns with the decision of the Supreme Court in Kelo and does what we should appropriately do, express our concern about it and any possible abuse of it but not go so overboard as this bill does in my opinion.
