I have an amendment at the desk. The Acting CHAIR. The Clerk will designate the amendment. The text of the amendment is as follows: Page 713, line 4, after the dollar amount insert: ``(increased by $500,000) (decreased by $500,000)''. The…

The Public Record
I look forward to working with you, Mr. Chairman, and all our colleagues, to fulfill the President's promise, and include the people of the insular areas fully and equally in our national healthcare programs.
At a minimum, Medicaid must be available to our areas in exactly the same way it is available to every part of the country.
I look forward to hearing what ideas our witnesses offer, particularly the Office of Insular Affairs, on how we can make sure the people of American Samoa get the health care that all Americans have the right to and that all of us here in…
The only reason the hospital has been able to remain open, the corporation's Chief Executive Officer has said, is because of the extra Medicaid money that was provided by Obamacare: $109 million.
I have no further speakers, and I urge all my colleagues to please support, vote ``aye'' on H.R. 2664. Mr. Speaker, I yield back the balance of my time.
We are frustrated, very frustrated for some, that the required monument, the key to long-awaited public education programs and the development of a visitor center is over 6 years past the due date stated in President Bush's proclamations.
the Workforce Democracy and Fairness Act undermines fair and democratic union elections.
taken together these bills are not just union busting bills, they are union elimination bills.
the purpose of the National Labor Relations Act was to strengthen unions as an institution in our economy.
I look forward to today's discussion on how to ensure that everyone is planning and saving for retirement and can get the investment advice that's in their best interest.
We are in the midst of a retirement savings crisis. Tens of millions Americans who work in the private sector lack access to a retirement savings plan at their jobs.
According to AARP, having access to a workplace retirement plan makes workers 15 times more likely to save, so we should be discussing ways to encourage or require employer sponsorship of retirement vehicles, such as automatic IRA…
I am concerned that if TrumpCare ever becomes law, just when Americans are at or approaching retirement age, they would be facing skyrocketing premiums and wondering if they will ever be able to retire.
Their willingness to do so underscores the urgent need for the Senate to act.
I also believe deeply in workers' rights to organize, to collectively bargain, and to protect their right to fight for a safe workplace.
We should not be enacting legislation that weakens workers' ability to bargain for a fair share of the wealth.
One of the main reasons if not the main reason that I ran for Congress was to find a way to help improve the education of the poor people that I represent.
This bill deals with a dispute between the sovereign rights of Native American tribes and the rights of workers to organize and bargain collectively.
The effect of this legislation would be to strip employees, who work at businesses owned and operated by an Indian tribe and located on Indian lands, of the protections afforded by the National Labor Relations Act.
However, if H.R. 986 is enacted, workers would lose the protection of the federal minimum standard.
There is no uniform standard for tribal ordinances, which means there could be 567 different labor standards, depending on the tribe.
